“This Staff Is Cooking”: Fans Celebrate as Kentucky Lands Massive Recruiting Win Over Oregon and Miami

The Kentucky Wildcats are quietly building a solid recruiting class, catching the fans’ attention. In their latest recruitment win, they secured the commitment of Class of 2027 linebacker Drew Williams.

Williams picked coach Will Stein’s program over notable programs such as Oregon, Florida, and Miami. He announced his decision with the following words:

    “AG2G, BBN Let’s work🔵⚪️!!”

According to Rivals’ industry rankings, the three-star linebacker is ranked No. 847 in the country, No. 72 in his position and No. 98 in his state.

Will Stein is doing solid recruiting for Kentucky

Will Stein is doing solid work on the recruiting trail for Kentucky, especially considering he’s in his first cycle as the Wildcats’ head coach.

In recent weeks, Kentucky has landed notable prospects, including four-star in-state defensive lineman Malachi Brown, who picked Stein’s Wildcats over programs like Ohio State, Tennessee, Miami and Louisville. Keeping Brown in the state was a notable win for the program, giving way for other recruitments as well.

The Wildcats also added linebacker Drew Williams after beating out schools including Florida, Oregon and Miami.

Kentucky is also trending in the right direction in its chase for offensive tackle Dominic Black. Many analysts are projecting he will commit to the program in Lexington.

On the flip side, Kentucky has also lost three-star athlete Bryian Duncan Jr., who flipped his commitment to West Virginia, and missed out on offensive lineman Kaden Buchanan.

Overall, under Stein, Kentucky has done a pretty good job, winning regional recruiting battles and retaining home-state talent, as its class is hovering near the top 15 nationally for 2027. These are seen as positive signals for Kentucky in the coming years of the SEC.
