Lane Kiffin Makes Huge Recruiting Strides With Elite 2027 Edge’s Commitment

Lane Kiffin is putting together a great roster for his first season as coach of the LSU Tigers. He arrived in Baton Rouge in November following a six-season run with the Ole Miss Rebels.

So far, he has made some valuable additions to his team, but Kiffin’s quest to strengthen the roster is not over yet. He is still adding new players to the roster and recently secured a commitment from a 6-foot-4, 230-pound edge rusher.

K.G. Green, an elite 2027 edge rusher out of Stone Mountain, Georgia, committed to the LSU Tigers on Sunday, according to Rivals.

Green, from Stephenson High School, had offers from South Carolina, Texas, Oregon, Georgia, and other schools, but he chose Lane Kiffin’s program. He brings a great combination of size, length and physicality and has the potential to become a star player under Kiffin.

Kiffin has also landed commitments from five-star tight end Ahmad Hudson, four-star quarterback Peyton Houston, four-star athlete Braylon Calais and four-star wide receiver Ah’Mari Stevens in the 2027 class.

Hudson, despite his commitment to LSU, is currently on a visit to Nebraska to explore other options. He is ranked No. 16 nationally and is the top tight end in his class. He committed to LSU in May, and it seemed like he wouldn’t visit any other program after that.

LSU could lose Hudson, and they have already lost five-star edge rusher Jaiden Bryant, who recently flipped his commitment from LSU to Miami.

“It went great,” he said. “Some highlights from this weekend were spending time with some of the guys and some of the players already on the team.”

Bryant said that he felt “wanted” and was treated really well by the coaches during his visit.

Lane Kiffin’s Son Doesn’t Want to Join LSU

Lane Kiffin’s son, Knox, is a three-star junior and the No. 1-ranked QB prospect in Louisiana for the 2028 class. Knox already has plenty of options in front of him, but people want to know if he’ll play for his father at LSU.

When Lane joined the Tigers, many thought that Knox would start his college career at one of the country’s best programs. But he has other plans.

“No. … Maybe before, but not now,” he told WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge last week. “Just because I’m here, I don’t have any aspirations to play for them. I want to kind of do my own thing.”

Knox wants to have his own college experience and believes that playing for his father at LSU will not help him in that process.
