After being knocked out in the quarterfinals of the 2025 CFB playoffs, Ohio State has been super proactive on the recruiting front, with head coach Ryan Day vying for the side to replicate their 2024 heroics in the upcoming season.
So far, the Ohio-based program has been fairly successfuly in their bid to lure top talent with a couple of five star recuits already set to join the class of 2027. However, it looks like there’s no stopping Ryan Day, as another five-star prospect could very well join his side, potentially strengthening an already stacked roster.
After his recent visit to Ohio State, five-star RB David Gabriel Georges sang praises of the Buckeyes, revealing how the program wants him to grow above and beyond the football field.
“They really want me to be a Buckeye,” Georges stated in a conversation with Hayes Fawcett.
“They not only want to develop me as a football player, but as a man”, he further elaborated.
Despite the running back’s strong inclination towards Ohio state, he has also received offers from atleast 23 top programs thus far. While it remains to be seen if David commits to the Buckeyes anytime, a decision will most likely be made after concluding his scheduled visits to Tennessee, Ole Miss and Georgia later this month.
D.J Jacobs & Jamier Brown Spearhead Buckeyes’ Class Of 2027 Recruits
While David Gabriel Georges is still yet to decide on his commitment, the five-star prospect has already climbed ESPN’s SC Next top prospects leaderboard, occupying the 23rd spot.
If David declares for Ohio State, he’s bound to link up with fellow five-star recruits in the form of DE D.J. Jacobs and WR Jamier Brown, who currently sit third and tenth, respectively, on the SC Next list with an overall grade rating of 90 and above.
While there is still ample time left for Jacobs and Brown to feature for the Buckeyes on the field, the five-star duo could very well become foundation pieces for Ryan Day and his side in the near future.
