The 2026 NFL draft has come and gone, leaving fans and experts to pick up the pieces. The Texas Longhorns fans are one group curious about how many of the team’s stars did enough to impress NFL teams enough to get the green light.
Based on the order in which the players were taken, it was clear that one side of the ball impressed teams more than the other. Here’s a look at every player leaving the Longhorns to join an NFL team via the draft.
Every Texas Player Drafted By NFL Teams
In total, six players joined the NFL via the draft this year. The first player drafted was Anthony Hill Jr., who was taken near the end of the second round. He joined the Tennessee Titans.
Malik Muhammad was drafted near the middle of the fourth round, and he went north, joining the Chicago Bears. The Miami Dolphins added three players: Trey Moore, Michael Taaffe, and DJ Campbell.
The first four players taken were all defensive, hinting that the team’s defense sold teams more than the offense, with only Campbell and Jack Endries being taken (the Longhorns announced Endries’ drafting on X on Saturday). Endries is one of several tight ends the Bengals have added in recent days, so he will have his work cut out for him.
- Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Tennessee Titans
- Malik Muhammad, CB, Chicago Bears
- Trey Moore, Edge, Miami Dolphins
- Michael Taaffe, S, Miami Dolphins
- DJ Campbell, OG, Miami Dolphins
- Jack Endries, TE, Cincinnati Bengals
Which Drafted Texas Players Could Have the Greatest Impact in 2026?
The three additions to the Miami Dolphins, Trey Moore, Michael Taaffe and DJ Campbell all have the best shot at seeing significant snaps this season. The Dolphins are rebuilding from scratch and seemingly no incumbent job is safe.
Additionally, Anthony Hill Jr. could see some action as a defensive rookie at least partly chosen by Robert Saleh, giving him an advantage over the veterans in front of him in July and August.
Of course, by the end of 2027, it will be clear which players had staying power and which couldn’t keep up with the rigors of the NFL. It is unlikely that every player will see the start of the 2027-28 season.
