Ben Shelton is set to headline the ATP 500 Dallas Open. Ahead of his first tournament after the Australian Open quarterfinal run, Shelton is aiming to find consistency on court. A handful of his countrymen will join Shelton in Dallas, such as Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Learner Tien.
The 23-year-old is currently training at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. He shared a series of images in a social media post on Friday, offering highlights of his happy moments during his time Down Under, including moments with his girlfriend, Trinity Rodman. He captioned the post, “Flow state.”
The USWNT and Washington Spirit star forward was quick to notice her boyfriend’s social media post and dropped an endearing comment.
“Puppyyyyy,❤️❤️❤️” Rodman wrote.

Rodman had accompanied Shelton to Auckland, New Zealand, for the ASB Classic, where he lost in the quarterfinals. Shifting his focus to the Australian Open, the American had a positive run until he faced Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals.
The Italian made light work of Shelton and dispatched him in straight sets, thereby ending the American’s promising run at Melbourne Park. Despite the heartbreaking loss, Shelton had some good moments in Australia, where he played a high level of tennis and spent quality time with Rodman before she left for America to join the USWNT for training camp.
After Dallas, Ben Shelton is Set to Play in Acapulco
The World No. 9 will aim to climb the rankings by performing well in upcoming ATP events. Shelton is aiming to play his February tournaments close to home, skipping the ATP 500 events in Rotterdam, Doha, and Dubai, and instead playing at the Dallas Open before flying south to Acapulco for the Mexican Open.
Shelton will face a stern test at the maiden Masters 1000 event of the year in Indian Wells, California, where all top seeds in men’s singles have provisionally given their availability to play.
The 23-year-old American has been struggling to find consistency against top-3 seeds in recent years, and he hopes to overcome that in the upcoming tournaments.
