Novak Djokovic Spotted in Milan, Backs Lindsey Vonn’s Miraculous Olympic Return Just Days After ACL Rupture

After making his first Grand Slam final at the Australian Open since 2023, Novak Djokovic has reached Milan to attend the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. The tennis legend is rooting for Alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn, who, despite a torn ACL, has confirmed her participation at the Games.

On Friday, Djokovic was pictured in a selfie with a fan from Milan. His fan posted it on social media:

Moreover, Djokovic posted a graphic of Lindsey Vonn on his Instagram stories, suggesting he will be cheering for the ski racing legend at Milan.

Lindsey Vonn suffered a complete ACL rupture following her crash in Switzerland just a week before the 2026 Winter Olympics. There were doubts raised whether the 41-year old will feature in the upcoming Games, but after consulting with her doctors, Vonn shared a miraculous update that she would participate in the Winter Olympics. She completed her downhill training run on Friday successfully two days before the race. Her knee was covered with a large brace. Vonn is chasing an Olympic gold this winter.

Novak Djokovic Leaves Roger Federer Behind Again

Roger Federer had a long tennis career and most age awards of the late 30s belonged to the Swiss pro. However, the 38-year-old tennis legend from Serbia is slowly breaking those records and setting new benchmarks.

Following his trip to the final of the Australian Open, where he was defeated by World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in four sets, Novak Djokovic has returned to the top-3 in rankings for the first time since September 2024. With this, he became the second-oldest top-3 player after Ken Rosewall in 1975, while leaving the Swiss legend behind.

Djokovic dethroned Alexander Zverev from the No. 3 position. The German was the 2025 Australian Open finalist but was defeated in the semifinals of the 2026 edition.

Djokovic’s reach to the top-3 is impressive because of his reduced schedule and special focus on the Grand Slams, mostly. Despite overcoming Jannik Sinner in the semifinals, his chase for the 25th Grand Slam title continues. His next target would be 2026 Roland Garros.
