Famous Chinese freestyle skier Eileen Gu called 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic an inspiration after the Serb shared a rare reaction to Gu’s prolific medal tally in just two Winter Olympics at age 22. With her latest two silver medals at the Milano-Cortina Games, the Chinese star has now won a total of five medals (two golds and three silvers).
Djokovic quickly shared Gu’s triumph on his Instagram story, celebrating her Winter Games achievements. The Chinese skier, in turn, shared that story and wrote, “@djokernole inspo always 🤍🌟🙏.”

Beyond skiing, Gu is a multifaceted athlete and prolific internet personality. She is highly active on social media, sharing moments from her daily life, her fashion sense, and promoting top brands as an ambassador. At the 2026 Winter Games, Gu won two silver medals in the Women’s big air and slopestyle events in freestyle skiing.
Like Gu, the 38-year-old had an incredible start to the new year, where he reached the final of the Australian Open after beating the defending champion Jannik Sinner in the semifinals. The Serb’s incredible win over Sinner stunned the masses and analysts alike, as none expected Djokovic to pull off this fantastic feat.
Novak Djokovic to Play His First ATP Event of the Season at Indian Wells
Before the Australian Open, Djokovic didn’t play in any warm-up events during the Australian swing. After withdrawing from both events in the Middle East swing, where the other top names are currently playing (Qatar Open) or will play (upcoming Dubai Open), the Serb has shifted his focus to the Indian Wells Open (Masters 1000), which starts on March 2.
Despite his dream run in Melbourne coming short in the final against eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic broke into the top three ATP rankings once again. The 38-year-old will aim to stay right at the tail of the top two duo and further attempt to improve his record against them in the upcoming events.
