“Please Stop” – Juan Carlos Ferrero’s Endless Carlos Alcaraz Split Commentary Irks Fans Again

Carlos Alcaraz’s former coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, has once again attracted attention from fans after his recent opinion on the seven-time Grand Slam champion. The two split before the 2026 season as they couldn’t come to terms on a new contract. Since then, Carlos Ferrero has given interviews to different outlets, mainly focused on the split. On the other hand, Alcaraz has maintained silence over the controversial split.

In the 2025 Netflix documentary series “Carlos Alcaraz: My Way,” Carlos Ferrero was shown as a strict and determined coach. On the other hand, Alcaraz had it more lightly, going to parties and engaging himself in other distractions.

Despite what Alcaraz does off the field, the Spaniard has able to achieve tremendous results on the court. But that doesn’t mean Carlos Ferrero, who has been coaching him since 14, had his doubts about whether he’ll be able to do well, raising concerns over Alcaraz’s poor work ethic in the Netflix documentary.

“From my understanding, I thought that with how he is, he wasn’t going to become the best (in the long term), but he is proving that being who he is, he is capable,” JCF said. “Those distractions and plans are very tempting and they call out to you more and more, but if you are able to combine them well, as he is demonstrating, it can even be beneficial and serve as a reset. That’s his case.”

Carlos Ferrero also added that the major concern with Alcaraz was injuries rather than his performance.

“The fears were more regarding injuries than anything tennis-related, because with his level, in two or three days he already has it. It’s astounding,” the coach added.

When fans learned about this latest remark from Carlos Ferrero, they slammed Alcaraz’s former coach for not believing in the seven-time Grand Slam champion.

“It’s one thing if he actually believed that Alcaraz wouldn’t be the best (although it’s even more odd when you consider the kind of career trajectory Carlos was on before this shitshow, even with his slump), but to go out of your way to mention this in an interview right after he’s won the career slam makes him come across as rather pathetic and cruel imo,” one fan wrote.

“He said it in the documentary too and he was asked about it so he explained. But it was cruel and misplaced to say in the documentary too,” one fan added. “If that’s what he would say in front of a camera, what would he say without cameras?

“It’s more than just not believing in your player and not believing your player can achieve things without doing things your way – it’s also convincing everyone it’s the truth and all the success is owed to you. Sad to imagine Alcaraz has had to listen to this since he was 15… “Being who he is, I didn’t believe he could be the best” I think that’s a reason for any top 50 player to fire a coach, let alone a Carlos Alcaraz. Better off now, without a doubt.”

“If you’re a top ten player and your coach doesn’t think you can be the best, that’s fucked!” another commented.

Some fans are getting irked over Carlos Ferrero’s constant commentary regarding the split.

“I don’t remember the documentary clearly, but weren’t he giving the interview in Spanish? There could be something lost in the translation,” one fan reacted.

“The more he talks, the less surprising the split gets,” one fan wrote.

“JCF, save the remnants of your reputation and please stop talking about split with Carlos,” one fan suggested.

Carlos Alcaraz’s Coach Juan Carlos Ferrero Unfollows Spaniard on Instagram

Over a month after Carlos Alcaraz won his first Grand Slam without Juan Carlos Ferrero in Melbourne, Juan Carlos Ferrero has made another major step to distance himself from the World No. 1.

The coach has unfollowed Alcaraz on Instagram. This left the coach exposed to criticism. Ferrero clarified that the decision was not motivated by anger or resentment. He explained that he simply needed time to create some distance after their split.

However, Carlos Ferrero said the unfollowing doesn’t matter much as Alcaraz still dominates his social media feed anyway.
