Jannik Sinner has once again defeated Alexander Zverev and like most times, he let out a scream to emphasize his hard-fought win in the 2026 Miami Open semifinal. The Italian was on top of his game in the first set, which he won 6-3.
However, in the second set, the German gave Sinner a tough set, taking it all the way to a tiebreak where the World No. 2 came out on top to extend his head-to-head record to 8-4. After winning the match point, where Zverev’s serve return was too strong, Sinner looked down and screamed.
One tennis fan observed this scream being more common when Sinner faces Zverev, especially. The user deduces that it might be because ‘Sascha’ always gives the World No. 2 a tough fight.
“Sinner doesn’t like Zverev?? He mostly screams after winning against him,” one fan said.
“Every time he beats Zverev he gives a huge celebration. Got less out of him for the 4 slams,” one fan commented. “must not like buddy or something (he shouldn’t).”
“He rarely screams even against other players and Carlos, but he often screams against Zverev. That’s a nice voice!” another fan added.
“It’s genuinely so funny to me that zverat is the only guy who gets jannik animated and loud post match,” one fan reacted.
“he has only shouted twice in his life, and both times were against Zverev. he just can’t stand losing to him. anyone else but not him,” one fan wrote.
Jannik Sinner One Win Away to Claim Sunshine Double
A “Sunshine Double” is a feat for tennis players who are able to win both the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Open. Jannik Sinner defeated Daniil Medvedev in straight sets to win the Indian Wells Masters and is now a win away from winning the Miami Open, therefore, achieving the “Sunshine Double.”
In tennis history, there have been only seven players who have accomplished the Sunshine Double. If Sinner wins against Jiri Lehecka, he’ll join a rare group including Jim Courier, Michael Chang, Pete Sampras, Marcelo Rios, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. The last person was Federer in 2017.
It remains to be seen if the favorite Sinner avoids any upset against Lehecka en route to Sunshine Double.
