Flavio Cobolli recently revealed his French Open routine after his latest win in the quarterfinal. While opening up about his routine, he opened up about its connection with Rafael Nadal.
Cobolli kickstarted his Roland Garros run on Monday, May 25, against Andrea Pellegrio, where he claimed a three straight-sets win. After besting players, including Wu Yibing, Learner Tien, and more, he advanced to the quarterfinals, where he recently locked horns with Felix Auger Aliassime on June 3. The latter started on a strong note by winning the first set; however, the Italian bounced back and won the next three sets, claiming a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory.
After advancing to the semifinals, he sat for his post-match press conference, where he revealed his French Open routine, stating that he goes to the same restaurant, same menu, and same shower. Highlighting the shower story, he said that he is using the same shower that Nadal used for 14 years at Roland Garros.
“This week, I’m a little bit more crazy than, than the other, I just go same restaurant, same menu, same shower. Actually, I think I said on the first press that I use the same shower as Rafa, because I had a memory with that shower that I tried to stall to him and he knocked to me and I had to be hurry because he was waiting on me and he told me that it was that his showered since 14 years and so, I think the best thing that I’m used to do is the shower,” said Flavio Cobolli.
Ahead of the French Open, Cobolli competed at the Bitpanda Hamburg Open, where he suffered an early exit against Ignacio Buse.
