Daddy, Mommy Or Dominatrix? – Coco Gauff Tries To Pin Down Exact Rivalry Dynamic With Iga Swiatek In Totally Unexpected Miami Open Moment

Coco Gauff has advanced to the Miami Open final after dominating Karolina Muchova in the semifinals on Thursday night. The 22-year-old American lost only two games, winning the match 6-1, 6-1. With this victory, Gauff moves back into the top 3 in the live WTA rankings.

Gauff played her best tennis during the semifinal, as she didn’t give her Czech opponent any room to settle into the match. A strong all-around performance by the American will now see her compete in her first tournament final of the year after losing in the semifinals at the Dubai Open.

After the match, Gauff spoke to the media at a post-game press conference. Besides sharing her thoughts on the game and her excitement to compete in the final on Saturday, the American used very confusing language to describe her on-court rivalry with World No. 2 Iga Swiatek, leaving the tennis community stunned.

“But I’ve also been on the other end of it too, so I don’t want to, so I guess another, I mean like Iga, she beat me so many times in a row, so I don’t want her to be considered my dad, but then I was able to, I was able to reverse it, so now we both each other’s daddies, I don’t know,” Gauff said.

“But yeah, I don’t think there’s a term as far as I know among the women, maybe there is. It’s, yeah, I don’t think daddy’s the term, I don’t think mommy’s the term either. I don’t know, dominatrix, I don’t know, I don’t know,” she added.

Coco Gauff To Face Aryna Sabalenka Miami Open Final

Winning her maiden WTA 1000 title of the year will not be an easy task for Coco Gauff, as she is set to face the World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the summit clash on Saturday. The Belarusian, who is gunning for her first Sunshine Double, took down Elena Rybakina 6-4, 6-3 in the other semifinal.

The head-to-head tie between Gauff and Sabalenka is split right through the middle at 6-6, with a 3-3 record on hard surfaces. The duo met thrice last year, with the Belarusian beating the American in the WTA Finals and the Madrid Open Final, while Gauff beat Sabalenka in the Roland Garros final.

It will be a mouthwatering clash between two in-form players in Miami, with a certain winner hard to predict at the moment.
