Coco Gauff Makes Bold Promise to $7,000,000 WNBA Star After Hometown Atlanta Dream Trade

Coco Gauff recently dropped a reaction to WNBA star Angel Reese’s trade to her hometown, Atlanta, making a bold promise. The American is currently gearing up for her upcoming match.

Gauff was last seen in action at the Miami Open, where she delivered powerful performances and advanced to the final. She bested top-notch athletes, including Sorana Cristea, Belinda Bencic, Karolina Muchova, and more, to progress near the trophy. She locked horns with Aryna Sabalenka in the final round; however, she fell short of claiming the trophy after the Belarusian registered a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 win to secure a first-place finish.

Currently, the 22-year-old is gearing up for her upcoming match, and amid this, the $7,000,000 worth WNBA All-Star forward’s trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream garnered the tennis player’s attention. The player posted this news on her Instagram, wearing the Atlanta Dream’s jersey.

Gauff made a bold promise of attending her game by dropping a comment that read:

“Looks like I’m making a trip!! yeeessss”

The American was recently a part of the Miu Miu campaign, where she was seen wearing a red top with a blue skirt, flaunting her natural hair and appearance. While some showered praise on her, some social media users criticized her for her look on X. Reacting to this, she posted an emotional response that read:

“Deleted twitter for a month, came back today, and got instantly reminded why I should not be on here lol :/”

Coco Gauff on Her Loss at The Miami Open

After losing to Aryna Sabalenka at the Miami Open finals, Coco Gauff delivered a runner-up speech, where she weighed in on her heartbreaking upset at the tournament. Stating that although it ‘sucks’ to not win the trophy, she felt a lot of joy that week. Highlighting what she was taking away from the event, she said:

“Although it sucks to not come out with the bigger trophy today, I had a lot of joy this week. “That’s something I’m taking away from this the most. I was getting a little emotional on the bench, but not sad tears. I’m just having two weeks of gratitude,” said Coco Gauff.

She further revealed whether feeling the joy and not talking down to herself despite loss was a strategy for her or not, saying:

“Yeah, I think I can talk down on myself, and things like that, but in that moment, you know, an athlete that I was inspired by at the Winter Olympics, Alysa Liu, and I had the mindset today that regardless of what happened, you lose, but there is no real loss in the situation. I was just looking at my box and seeing all my family and friends and hearing them in the crowd, and I know how much they supported me just to be on this stage, so I was just thinking more gratitude and things like that.”

Before the Miami Open, Coco Gauff competed at Indian Wells, where she walked over in the second round due to injury.
