Ben Shelton spent quality time with his girlfriend and professional soccer player, Trinity Rodman, in Oceania ahead of the 2026 Australian Open. The duo was together in Auckland, New Zealand, where Shelton competed in the ASB Classic before heading to Melbourne for the first Major of the year.
While Shelton, who was the No. 1 seed at the ASB Classic, lost his quarterfinal match to Sebastian Baez in straight sets, he didn’t lose hope and immediately turned his attention towards training hard for the Grand Slam.
The Washington Spirit soccer star, Rodman, is almost always by Shelton’s side to boost his morale, but it seems she won’t be in the stands to cheer him during the Australian Open. Rodman took to her Instagram story to share a date-night image of Shelton with the caption:
“Last night with my baby @benshelton.”
Shelton and Rodman went public with their relationship in March 2025 and have since been spotted multiple times at each other’s matches and other social events.
Rodman has established herself as one of the best players in the NWSL and for the USWNT. Meanwhile, Shelton is aiming to kick off his 2026 season with an emphatic performance Down Under despite the ASB Classic disappointment.
Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman Spent a Romantic Date Night in Auckland
On Monday, January 12, Rodman and Shelton went out on a romantic date night in Auckland, New Zealand. The couple went to a contemporary Japanese robata-style restaurant, “Masure,” and in an Instagram video, they were seen getting ready for the night.
Shelton has a relatively straightforward draw compared to other top-ranked players at the Australian Open. The 23-year-old can secure easy wins till the third round, after which he could face Casper Ruud in the fourth round and other top seeds if he progresses.
Shelton begins his quest at the first Major of the year, with a clash against former World No. 13 Ugo Humbert on Monday, January 19.
