Bad Bunny Divides Tennis World: How Serena Williams’ Husband, Coco Gauff’s Ex-coach, Martina Navratilova & Others Viewed Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show

Bad Bunny stole the spotlight with a show-stopping performance as the headliner of the Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show during the Seahawks vs. Patriots matchup on Sunday, February 8. It quickly became a talking point well beyond the NFL, drawing reactions from across the sports world, including prominent figures from tennis such as Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian, Coco Gauff’s former coach Brad Gilbert, Martina Navratilova, and others.

Bunny’s appearance was not without controversy. As a Puerto Rican artist who primarily performs in Spanish, his selection drew criticism from some quarters, including President Donald Trump. Nevertheless, he pressed ahead.

The 31-year-old ran through a hit-packed, career-spanning set featuring tracks like ‘DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS’ and ‘Monaco.’ He also pulled off a few surprises, bringing out Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, who gave ‘Die With a Smile’ a salsa twist. Karol G, Cardi B, and Jessica Alba also made appearances.

Brad Gilbert, who had already been skeptical about tuning in for the show, remained unconvinced. After watching the performance, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and said that despite trying to keep an “open mind,” he ultimately felt it was simply “bad.”

“I tried to be open minded about bad bunny. This is just really bad, could have been in legendary halftime Bay Area rock instead just straight red card for decision makers,” Coco Gauff’s ex-coach wrote.

Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams’ husband, offered a sharply different take. The Reddit co-founder praised the performance as “iconic” and even reflected on last year’s halftime show headlined by Kendrick Lamar, in which his wife appeared.

“Bad Bunny! Another iconic Half Time Show,” Ohanian wrote on X.

“I think all artists are gonna lean into this storytelling style that Kendrick pioneered for the Super Bowl show – really lands on the broadcast and high replay value,” he added.

Martina Navratilova was also full of praise for Bad Bunny. She stayed active on X (formerly Twitter) throughout the show, posting multiple reactions, including a sarcastic response to a tweet mocking viewers who struggled with the Spanish lyrics.

“Lol,” the 18-time Grand Slam champion wrote.

Meanwhile, Taylor Townsend shared her reaction on Instagram, posting Stories of herself and her son, AJ, dancing and vibing along to the show. She admitted she couldn’t understand everything Bad Bunny was saying, but said she enjoyed the performance regardless.

“Period Bad Bunny. Period. That was so good. I enjoyed that. Period Bad Bunny. I have no idea what he said. But, period,” Townsend said.

Serena Williams also revealed she was tuned in, sharing a photo of her TV screen on Instagram and tagging Bad Bunny. Meanwhile, Grigor Dimitrov’s girlfriend and acclaimed Mexican actress Eiza Gonzalez was in attendance at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, watching the performance live.

Coco Gauff Shows Support For Super Bowl 2026 Winner Seattle Seahawks; Roger Federer Has A Great Time Watching It Live

The Seattle Seahawks are Super Bowl champions. They capped off a remarkable season with a convincing 29–13 win over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium.

One of the Seahawks’ most enthusiastic supporters on the night was Coco Gauff, who had a personal reason for backing the team. The two-time Grand Slam champion revealed that a close friend’s boyfriend is part of the Seahawks roster, though she chose not to disclose his name. She was also excited to watch Bad Bunny, Cardi B, and others.

“My friend’s boyfriend is on the Seahawks, so I’m rooting for the Seahawks strictly because of her. I’m excited to see #BadBunny perform. Hopefully Cardi B can come out,” Gauff told Tennis Majors.

Meanwhile, Roger Federer was also in attendance at Levi’s, watching the action live. A longtime fan of the sport, this wasn’t Federer’s first Super Bowl experience involving the Patriots, as he previously attended a game in 2008 when Tom Brady was chasing history.
