Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian delivered some emphatic reactions after his good friend Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Greek-Nigerian NBA star worth $70 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), joined the Reddit co-founder in the ownership group of Chelsea FC Women. Ohanian himself became a part of the ownership group in May last year after he purchased a 10 percent stake in the women’s soccer team based in London, UK.
On the night of Saturday, February 7, Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks forward, announced the development via his official social media handles, writing:
“I’m proud and honored to partner with my friend @alexisohanian, joining the ownership group of @chelseafcw, a historic club built on passion, excellence, and a winning culture. Chelsea’s history speaks for itself, and I’m excited to contribute to the future by supporting continued growth and impact in women’s sport. This is about ambition, legacy, and pushing the game to new heights. Up the Chels! 🦁 💙”
Subsequently, Ohanian, who married tennis legend Williams in 2017, replied with a playful post on X (formerly Twitter), as he asked the platform’s AI tool Grok to edit a picture of himself alongside his wife and daughter after his 10 percent stake purchase in Chelsea FC Women. The Reddit co-founder instructed Grok to add an image of Antetokounmpo to the original picture. Ohanian wrote:
“@grok can you add Giannis to this photo?”
Williams’ husband also replied to Antetokounmpo’s post on Instagram, wondering when the two friends would be able to travel to Stamford Bridge together. Stamford Bridge happens to be the 40,000-plus seater home stadium of Chelsea FC Women in southwest London. Ohanian asked:
“When are we going to Stamford Bridge together my friend?!”

The result helped Chelsea complete the domestic treble consisting of the league, league cup and FA Cup.
Delighted with the performance of the team as well as his investment, Ohanian boldly told the BBC:
“The sky is the limit. You heard our president say this club is unapologetically ambitious – I want to get that tattooed on me. That is what we’re trying to build here – the best team in the world and at the forefront of women’s sport. This will be a billion-dollar franchise one day. I hope my dollars, my pounds, can go towards that and especially back home in America. This is going to be America’s team.”
