Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Taylen Green is one of the most exciting QBs in the 2026 NFL Draft. Green started his college football career with the Boise State Broncos in 2021.
After the 2023 season, he transferred to the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he produced his best season in 2024. Green accumulated 3154 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine receptions.
His last season with the Razorbacks was also impressive, putting him up as a guaranteed draft pick. The 6’6 quarterback is slated to be a Day 3 pick in the draft, and many experts have put him in the 4th – 7th round.
Vinnie Iyer has placed him as a seventh-round pick in his mock draft. Green doesn’t have the arm to go against some of his competitors, but he’s very fast, and that can prove to be crucial for teams looking for a long-term prospect.
Green managed a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash at this year’s combine, tied for 14th overall among players who ran. He was the fastest among the seven quarterbacks who ran this year. Overall, Green is considered a developmental project with elite athletic tools.
Although he’ll be a later-round pick, there’s a lot of buzz around Green as fans and experts want to see where he lands. Here are the top five potential landing spots.
Taylen Green’s Potential Landing Spots
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have had good seasons over the last few years, but they haven’t been able to make a splash. Jared Goff has been holding down the quarterback position for the Lions, and he has been very effective.
Green can provide the roster depth that they need to make a possible title run, considering the Lions are interested in helping him develop first.
New England Patriots
The New England Patriots made it to the Super Bowl this year. Just like Goff with the Lions, the Patriots have Drake Maye at the quarterback position. Green, being a young star with a promising future, could fit perfectly in the New England setup.
Arizona Cardinals
There are a few teams in the league who are currently looking for more options at the quarterback position, and the Arizona Cardinals are one of them. Jacoby Brissett had a disappointing year, and Kyler Murray was released, leaving Arizona in a tricky situation.
Even though Green will enter as a development prospect, his trajectory looks promising based on the scouting reports.
Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns had a turbulent run last season. Most of their drama was centred around quarterbacks, but it’s the disappointing season that stings more. The Browns are going into the draft with the intention of rebuilding the franchise.
Although Green will essentially be a backup QB if he joins the Browns, the young roster in Cleveland is the right fit for him to develop around a talented roster.
Green Bay Packers
“We’re going to get good players that will help us,” general manager Brian Gutekunst said, detailing the franchise’s draft plans. Picking a high-upside, dual-threat prospect will put them in a unique position for next season.
