Arch Manning is once again in the spotlight as the 2026 college football season is almost upon us, and with his rich pedigree and lineage, it’s hard to see why not. As far as his family heritage goes, few know the Manning family better than Texas Longhorns legend Mack Brown, and that’s why his recent comments about Arch feel specially relevant.
According to Mack Brown, Arch Manning’s links to his family can be seen by the way he runs, and he might even be doing it better than his highly talented uncles.
“When he (Arch Manning) started running the ball, he runs better than either of his uncles (Eli and Peyton Manning). He runs like his grandad (Archie Manning). And I played against his grandad and his grandad could really run, but when he started running the ball, it changed everything,” Mack Brown said to Urban Meyer and co on “The Triple Option” podcast.
Arch Manning Shown Support by College Football and NFL Analyst
It isn’t just Mack Brown who sees the potential in Arch Manning. David Pollack, who is known for his opinions on NFL and college football, chimed in with similar praise for the Texas Longhorns quarterback, especially after his NIL value dropped.
“I don’t think people realize how good he is. … I would not agree with that number,” Pollack said. “I believe he’s valued at least at the same as where he was. He’s one of the top five quarterbacks in the country. … That number that’s down, buying him low? I’d buy him low then, and he already went through all the scrutiny. Now, I think he gets to go ball with a fresh set of toys around him.”
After a fairly challenging season last time out, Arch Manning has the chance to shut his critics up and keep all the NFL teams interested as he steps out with purpose for the Texas Longhorns in the 2026 college football campaign.
