Sonny Styles Draft Projection: Where Could the Ohio State Linebacker Land?

Sonny Styles is viewed by many as the top conventional linebacker prospect in the NFL draft, which means he won’t be on the board long. The linebacker is expected by most to be picked in the first 10 picks.
As such, the number of potential landing spots is limited. Still, there will be enough permutations and variations to make the average sports mind freeze. Here’s a look at the top three landing spots for Styles.

Potential Landing Spots For Sonny Styles

    #3 – Washington Commanders

Dan Quinn spent 2025 with star linebacker Bobby Wagner, but the veteran appears to not be heading back to the fold with Quinn. As such, the coach may want a Bobby Wagner-like figure in the middle of the defense. His best chance in the NFL draft would be Sonny Styles.

Of course, at No. 7, the team will need him to slide through a danger zone to get to the franchise. Still, if he is available, it would be hard for Quinn to decline. Styles’ 100 tackles in 2024 would be useful on a defense that struggled last season as well.

    #2 – Dallas Cowboys

Jerry Jones has every reason to spend at least the top half of the draft on defense after watching arguably the best offense lose because of the least productive defense in the NFL in 2025. One way to get a jump on fixing things would be to draft Sonny Styles.

Of course, at No. 12, it would likely take a trade-up for the linebacker. Jones clearly knew something had to change last season, which is why he traded a 2026 seventh-round pick for Logan Wilson (NFL media), so he might be willing to make another small move up to land Styles.

    #1 – New York Giants

The New York Giants have been mocked by most analysts at one time or another over the last month to draft Sonny Styles. Armed with two picks in the top 10, Styles will have two chances to join New York.

Styles could be the perfect linebacker with pass-rushing traits that could explode when paired with Abdul Carter, who was all over the backfield in 2025. If John Harbaugh wants to instill a roster that won’t freeze in the pressure of the playoffs, it will need a player like Styles, who won it all in college in 2024.
