Ohio State Draft Prospects 2026: Top Players and Projected Landing Spots Revealed

Ohio State will once again dominate the NFL Draft. Last year, 14 players from the Ohio State Buckeyes got drafted, tying the program record. This year, they might not be able to reach the same number, but Ohio State will likely hit double digits again.

The Buckeyes have provided a lot of great talent to the NFL over the years. Arvell Reese, the 20-year-old star linebacker, is leading the Ohio State program into the NFL Draft this year.

Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza, who helped the Hoosiers win the national title this year, is widely projected to be the top draft pick this year. Mendoza is expected to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 1 pick. Reese would likely be the No. 2 pick after Mendoza.

    Top Ohio State Draft Prospects

    Arvell Reese

Reese represented the Buckeyes from 2023 to 2025 and won the national title in 2024 and was a consensus All-American in 2025 as well as the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year. Reese could be the highest non-quarterback draft pick this year.

Reese is second in line as per multiple mock drafts. He could go to the New York Jets at No. 2 or the Arizona Cardinals at No. 3.

    Sonny Styles

Linebacker Sonny Styles is expected to be another top 10 pick from the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He has been placed between No. 3 and No. 5 in multiple mock drafts. So, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Buckeyes get two top-five picks in this year’s draft. The New York Giants have emerged as the most likely team to draft Styles.

    Carnell Tate

Next in line from the Ohio State Buckeyes at this year’s draft would be Carnell Tate. The 21-year-old wide receiver is another projected top 10 pick. The New Orleans Saints at No. 8 or the Cleveland Browns at No. 6 could draft him.

    Caleb Downs

21-year-old safety, Caleb Downs, who joined the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2024 after transferring from the Alabama Crimson Tide, will likely be Ohio State’s last top 10 pick in this year’s draft.

He is widely regarded as a generational talent and has proved that he’s worth the hype during his college football run. The high-impact, elite prospect is likely to be the first defensive back selected.

Although there are some concerns about Downs’ knee injury, it’s not likely to affect his chances of becoming a top 10 draft pick.

    Kayden McDonald

Defensive tackle Kayden McDonald could be Ohio State’s last pick in the first round. He is widely projected as a late first-round to early second-round pick (roughly picks 25–36) in the 2026 NFL Draft. He is linked to teams like the Falcons, Vikings, and Texans.
