Insider Reveals Real Reason Behind Cam Coleman Texas Transfer And It’s Not Arch Manning

Steve Sarkisian’s Texas has been on a thrilling run in its recruitment journey in the last couple of days, with one of the biggest ones being ex-Auburn star Cam Coleman’s decision to join the Longhorns over Alabama, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M.

Coleman was among the top-ranked wide receivers in the portal and was highly pursued, and he has two more years of eligibility left in his college career.

The ex-Auburn star will now not only be joining hands with Arch Manning, but also WR Ryan Wingo, who had a major hand in helping Steve Sarkisian land Coleman.

NFL reporter and Texas insider, Anwar Richardson, revealed that Wingo was a big part of Coleman’s decision to commit to Texas:

‘One thing worth noting in Cam Coleman’s decision: Ryan Wingo. I was told Wingo was the lead recruiter, stayed in constant contact, and made it clear Coleman was wanted at Texas. Easy to protect your own turf – harder to build something bigger. That’s unselfish leadership.” Richardson wrote.

“Cam Coleman is majoring in business. The McCombs School of Business is ranked 16th in the country. The Manderson Graduate School of Business at the University of Alabama is ranked 54th. Try again.” Richardson also responded to an Alabama fan’s bizarre claim about Coleman.

Steve Sarkisian Accused of Not Making Arch Manning And Co. Shine

Arch Manning led the Texas Longhorns ended the 2025 college football season with an overall record of 9-3, while Steve Sarkisian made endless pleas saying his team deserved a spot in the CFP this year, but they were snubbed from the bracket.

Talking about Sarkisian as a head coach at Texas with the kind of talent they have currently, Dave Bartoo claimed on “That SEC Podcast” that he may not be that good.

“He’s only had one year in his entire career where he overperformed the talent he’s had versus the schedule one. That was two years ago, and he has never been able to replicate it since. So, I do not feel he is a national championship-level head coach. Never have, probably never will.” Bartoo said.

Sarkisian also secured a commitment from RB Hollywood Smothers after he flips from Alabama to Texas.
