Lane Kiffin’s LSU might be on the precipice of starting the 2026 season buildup, but the team has also been planning for the future beyond the season. Star tight end prospect Ahmad Hudson appeared to be part of that future. However, things have taken a turn, and Hudson’s future is now up in the air with rumors of him joining Nebraska, despite having already committed to LSU.
In a response to the potentially changing tide, 93.7’s Steven Sipple spoke about Nebraska’s involvement and whether he believed Hudson could change his commitment to Kiffin’s program.
“They feel legitimately good about getting Hudson,” he said. “Nebraska’s a pretty good place. It is. Sometimes guys also don’t want to stay home. Not all guys want to stay home for a variety of reasons, so obviously, he’s open to the idea of leaving. LSU will make it difficult. The state of Louisiana probably makes it difficult, but Nebraska can ease some of that pain financially. He won’t come (there) for free.”
Before committing to LSU, Hudson saw interest from many programs in the general Louisiana area, per 247 Sports, where the tight end most recently played football. Highlights include Alabama, Miami, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.
Ahmad Hudson’s Public Message Puts Pressure On Lane Kiffin
Ahmad Hudson didn’t exactly visit Nebraska in secret, as the tight end posted his location on X on Friday.
The post included two pictures. One was a picture of Nebraska, while the other was an AI-generated poster. The poster read “official visit” with the dates June 5-6 included.
It appears that Hudson, having already committed to LSU, could have one foot out the door. While that has led analysts like those on 93.7 to dream about the possibilities, the move has added pressure on Kiffin to do something to sweeten the deal or otherwise respond to Hudson’s public tease.
Will Hudson stay in Louisiana or move halfway across the country?
