As the situation develops around the university of Michigan following the removal of former college football head coach, Sherrone Moore, the future of Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel has become a major talking point. While it appeared his days were numbered too, one seemingly large hurdle does seem to have been crossed. What’s more, he also earned a compliment despite the increasing public pressure.
A Board of Regents meeting held on Thursday has concluded without mention of Warde Manuel, and according to Michigan President, Domenico Grasso, Manuel remains “one of the best athletic directors in the country” today.
According to The Wolverine on On3, Grasso said “Warde is one of the best athletic directors in the country,” when specifically asked about reservations regarding a similar comment about the AD made before the ongoing allegations came out. Grasso had first called Warde the best athletic director a few months ago.
When asked about a status update on the investigation and whether the public will be notified about it, Grasso further replied with “Uh, that’s under consideration. We’re still thinking about it.”
Reporter Alleges Legal Threats From Sherrone Moore
Reporter Justin Spiro has claimed that days before his eventual arrest, Sherrone Moore’s chats reveal that he was threatening legal action against the journalist as he went down the rabbit hole of Moore’s alleged affair with Paige Shiver and other alleged wrongdoings.
“Sherrone Moore mocked my reporting, calling me a “fake reporter” and claiming his lawyers were coming for me. Then got fired and arrested 9 days later. Still haven’t heard from his legal team,” Justin Spiro wrote on X.
As it turned out, Moore was fired and arrested for his part, and the Michigan program is still far from clear as the scandal continues to become public.
