Fans were in for a treat as elite wrestlers engaged in electrifying face-offs on Saturday at the RAF 07 (Real American Freestyle) at the Yuengling Center of the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. The event witnessed the debut of Kyle Snyder and Vladimer Khinchegashvili.
Bo Bassett recorded a major upset by getting the better of 2016 Olympic gold medalist Khinchegashvili by technical fall with a final score of 13-3.
Arman Tsarukyan competed against Georgio Poullas 2 in the middleweight category. This was a rematch between Tsarukyan and Poullas after the RAF 06 edition, where Tsarukyan bested Poullas.
Tsarukyan again showed his dominance over Poullas on Saturday. Tsarukyan took a 1-0 lead in the second period after Poullas failed to score in the shot-clock time. The Armenian wrestler won the bout 9–3 on points.
Results of the RAF 07
Kyle Dake took the lead in the first period against Parker Keckeisen in the 190lbs category. He went on to win the match 7-1. In his debut at the RAF 07, Kyle Snyder overpowered Akhmed Tazhudinov in the 215 lbs event.
In the women’s middleweight category, Olympic silver medalist Kennedy Blades defended her RAF women’s middleweight championship title, defeating Milana Dudieva by technical fall and winning 11-0.
Wyatt Hendrickson showed his dominance in the first period, taking a 4-0 lead and extending it to 6-0 in the second period. He maintained his position in the final period and won via points, 6-2.
