Olivia Dunne recently took a playful jab at her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, at an MLB event. Skenes was speaking at the MLB Awards on Friday when his girlfriend poked fun at him.
The couple attended the event months after the Pittsburgh Pirates’ pitcher won the 2025 National League Cy Young award. On Friday, Skenes was unanimously voted the top pitcher in the NL by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America, earning all 30 first-place votes. He became the third Pittsburgh player to win the award after Vern Law in 1960 and Doug Drabek in 1990.
Skenes earned the award after recording remarkable stats in 2025: a 1.97 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 2.36 FIP, and 217 ERA+. He was given the opportunity to address the crowd after he received the award. Dunne shared a glimpse of the moment where Skenes seemed to be involved in a serious discussion and made a playful remark, writing on Instagram:
“Acting like they know ball or sum” (along with a rolling eye emoji).
Skenes won the Cy Young award in 2025 after finishing third in the 2025 edition’s voting. He made his debut for the Pittsburgh Pirates in May 2024. In the same year, he clinched the National League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year award.

Olivia Dunne turned the spotlight on herself at the MLB Awards Night event, where she accompanied her beau and Pittsburgh Pirates’ star Paul Skenes on Friday. She wore a fire-red, one-sided off-shoulder dress. The dress also featured a tiny slit on the other end. She complemented the outfit with golden hoops. Dunne shared a mirror selfie while flaunting her dress and wrote on Instagram:
“MLB Awards.”
Skenes opted for a brown bow-tie tuxedo, which he paired with a black ring and a brown watch. The former gymnast and global influencer expressed her admiration for her beau and shared his picture on Instagram story, writing:
“Simply dashing.”
Since she retired from the sport, Dunne has been accompanying Skenes at multiple MLB events while also focusing on building her personal brand.
