    Jax Forrest Celebrates Big 12 Championship And Outstanding Wrestler Honors As Bo Bassett Responds

    Jax Forrest recently celebrated his achievements at the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, which were held from March 6 to 7 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received a sweet reaction from the Bishop McCort wrestler, Bo Bassett.

    On March 7, Forrest competed in the 133-pound finals, delivering a commanding performance against Arizona’s Kyler Larkin. He dominated his opponent, claiming a 15-2 major decision victory, and with this win, Oklahoma State claimed its second consecutive Big 12 and 57th overall wrestling conference championship.

    In addition to the 133-pound title, he was also named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the championships. Shortly after adding significant feathers to his cap, the Oklahoma wrestler opened up about his honors on Instagram. He posted a bunch of pictures from the championships and celebrated his achievements with a caption that read:

    “0-0. Grateful for it all, ready for anything that comes my way. Big 12 Champ & OW,” wrote Forrest.

    The post garnered the attention of his former Bishop McCort wrestling teammate, Bo Bassett. The latter left a comment, praising Forrest for his achievements.

    Bassett recently won his third PIAA title after defeating Brandt Harer in the 145-pound category. Following the win, he concluded his high school wrestling career at Bishop McCort Catholic in Pennsylvania on March 7, 2026.

    Jax Forrest made his feelings known about his bond with Bo Bassett 

    After winning the Big 12 title at 133 pounds, Jax Forrest addressed the media, where he fielded questions surrounding the ins and outs of his bout against Kyler Larkin at the Big 12 wrestling championships. Amid this, he was asked about Bo Bassett winning the PIAA title, and responding to this, the Oklahoma freshman opened up about his bond with him. (2:27 onwards)

    “Yeah, he’s such a special guy. He’s he texts me before every duel before today just, hey, good luck, brother. I’m thinking of you. I’m praying for you. Love and miss you. And just stuff like that is just it means a lot. And you know, people have a lot of different opinions on Bo, but to me, he’s just Bo. He’s just one of my good buds who just happens to be really, really good at wrestling,” said Jax Forrest.

    He further also spoke about the things he wants to improve after his first Big 12 title. Revealing the areas he thinks he needs improvement in, he said:

    Well, right now I’d like my legs and my arms to not be as tired. You know, my legs feel a little bit like jelly. My arms are tired. So, if I could just get those a little bit better, I think I can win pretty, pretty handy. I‘m more levelheaded. I don’t I’m not really worried about what’s going on. I’m more just thinking about how tired I am.”

    Jax Forrest joined the Oklahoma State University wrestling team in January 2026 after graduating from Bishop McCort Catholic in Pennsylvania.
