Several records and big performances stood out this year at the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships 2026. From Iowa’s Ryan Johnson to Michigan’s Miles Brown, multiple outstanding performances were delivered by the athletes.
Johnson won the weight throw title by breaking the event’s record by over a foot with a throw of 25.66m. Along with the meet’s record, he also broke the collegiate and facility records to claim the title. Michigan’s Brown, on the other hand, produced a commanding performance in the men’s 600m, breaking the meet record and Michael Saruni’s collegiate record with a time of 1:14.67.
USC’s Garrett Kaalund also broke the meet record and facility record in the men’s 200m, surpassing Purdue’s Cameron Miller’s record to win the title with a time of 20.06s. The men’s pole vault saw Nebraska’s Dyson Wicker break Adam Coulon’s meet record with a score of 5.79.
Another stunning performance was delivered by Oregon’s Aaliyah McCormick in the women’s 60m hurdles, where she surpassed Christina Manning’s meet record and also set a new facility record with a time of 7.89s. Several other athletes, including Hayley Kitching, Madison Whyte, and more, also set new meet records in their respective events.
