The Atlanta Falcons legendary quarterback, Matt Ryan, has been named as the franchise’s new President of Football. Arthur Blank previously explained the role as someone who would set the vision and identity for the team amid head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot’s firing.
Who Is Matt Ryan’s Wife Sarah Ryan?
Matt Ryan, who spent 14 years of his NFL career with the Falcons, met the love of his life during their freshman year at Boston College and has been together since 2003.
“It started out as a friendship. We’d see each other in the hallways and we had the same group of friends and one thing led to another,” she recalled. “I look back and we dated forever and now we’ve been married for two years. I was the lucky one to run into him that day.” Sarah told The Gwinnett Daily Post.
Both Ryan and Sarah bonded over their love for sports as the former spent his time playing football and the latter played basketball at the University.
Sarah was a remarkable player in high school, as she was named the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year twice and also secured the MVP twice.
At Boston College, she was named as the starter for three years and averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists during her senior year while also being named the program’s all-time leading scorer.
Matt was picked as the No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft and later tied the knot with his wife, Sarah, in April 2011.
The couple has three kids together, two of them are twins and the youngest one, Cal Patrick Ryan, who was born in April 2023.
In a New Year post, Sarah wrote on her Instagram in January 2024, “It’s hard to believe that last year at this time we were a family of 4. 2023 gave us all the best gift and I feel so lucky to be heading into 2024 with my four favorite guys. Happy New Year! *The last slide is how all my lofty resolutions are looking back at me*.”
The couple’s firstborn, Marshall, spent five weeks in the NICU after being born before heading home for the first time due to complications in the delivery.
