Frank Reich has returned to the NFL!
The former Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers head coach served as the Stanford Cardinals interim head coach this season, coaching college football. This morning, new broke that the New York Jets have hired Reich as their offensive coordinator, replacing Tanner Engstrand.
Head coach Aaron Glenn had been looking for a veteran offensive play-caller to join his staff this season. Interestingly enough, Reich and Glenn were teammates 30 years ago on the Jets.
Who Is Frank Reich’s Wife?
Frank Reich is married to his wife, Linda Reich. The two got married in 1987 when he was primarily playing as a backup quarterback with the Buffalo Bills.
The two share three kids together, all daughters- Lia, Aviry, and Hannah, who are all adults. Per the Carolina Panthers’ website, the two went to high school together in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Linda is a philanthropist and works with her husband as the president and co-founder of kNot Today.
With her role with kNot Today, Linda, according to the organization’s website, aims to “generate awareness, initiate prevention strategies, and assist in the development of innovative healing programs for sexually abused and exploited children.”
Frank Reich Coaching History
Frank Reich brings over a ton of coaching and NFL experience to the New York Jets’ roster.
Reich played in the NFL from 1985-1999, mainly serving as a backup. He began coaching less than 10 years after retiring, joining the Indianapolis Colts as a coaching intern in 2006and was a member of their coaching staff until 2011.
Reich would have two offensive coordinator gigs with the San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles before taking over as the Colts’ head coach from 2018-2022. Reich then served as the Carolina Panthers’ head coach for part of the 2023 season before being fired.
Reich was the interim head coach for Stanford last season.
