Bill Belichick was denied first ballot Hall of Fame selection and ever since, many have questioned the committee that didn’t give the eight-time Super Bowl champion at least 40 out of 50 votes.
Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, responded with a sarcastic Instagram post. She shared a screenshot of a Hall of Fame merchandise order that was canceled and captioned the post:
“Hey @profootballhof, what were the “unforeseen circumstances”? 🤣”
This was an indirect critique of the Pro Football Hall of Fame committee.
Belichick himself was offended by the committee’s decision to snub him. He was joined by several top NFL stars, including Patrick Mahomes, Julian Edelman and many others.
Belichick has won eight Super Bowls, six as the New England Patriots head coach, where he built a dynasty with legendary quarterback Tom Brady and two as a defensive assistant.
Brady, who has won seven Super Bowls, spoke in support of Belichick and slammed the voters for snubbing possibly the greatest head coach football has seen.
“I don’t understand it,” Brady said. “I mean, I was with him every day. If he’s not a first-ballot Hall of Famer, there’s really no coach that should ever be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, which is completely ridiculous because people deserve it. There’s no coach I’d rather play for. If I’m picking one coach to go out there to win a Super Bowl — give me one season — I’m taking Bill Belichick. So that’s enough said.”
This should have been enough, but it seems the voters also put two past controversial incidents in Belichick’s career. The first was the Spygate incident in 2007 when the Patriots were accused of videotaping the opposition team’s signals. The other was deflegate incident in 2015.
Jordon Hudson Planning a “Huge Bash” for Bill Belichick Despite Hall of Fame Snub
Jordon Hudson is reportedly planning to celebrate Bill Belichick on the same day as the official Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Aug. 8.
An insider said Tom Brady, Jimmy Johnson, Bill Parcels and others, who took issue after Belichick was denied entry into the Hall of Fame, are all invited. Most of these people were traveling to Canton, Ohio, just for Belichick, but now will attend the party thrown by Hudson.
More details regarding the same are awaited from Hudson.
