The wedding of music superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has now wrapped up, and it had a lot of famous guests from entertainment and sports. Among the big names were New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and his wife, Jennifer. However, since the controversy involving former The Athletic journalist Dianna Russini, Vrabel’s every move has come under scrutiny.
On Friday, the couple was seen entering a vehicle to head to Madison Square Garden, where the wedding was happening. This was when fans pointed out that Vrabel did not even hold the door for his wife, entering the SUV first before Jennifer followed him inside and closed the door herself.
Here’s how fans on X reacted to the moment.
“Is walking 8 feet ahead of her and doesn’t even get the door for her? Just jumps in?” said one person.
“Coach Vrabel’s such a gentleman he opened the car door for himself. #loving,” another person noted.
“Vrabel, what are you doing? Open the car door for your wife & escort her inside the vehicle. Not a good look when all eyes are on you,” said another person.
“Why was he even invited?” one commenter pointed out.
“Trav would have held the door & let his lovely wife in first,” said another person.
“Real gentleman helping his wife into the car first, oh wait, he didn’t….,” one person opined.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Wedding Was First Appearance Jennifer and Mike Vrabel Had Together Since Scandal Surfaced
Page Six was the first publication to break the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini scandal, and it happened all the way back in April. Friday’s appearance at the Swift-Kelce wedding was the first time Vrabel and his wife, Jennifer, were seen together in public since.
Russini and Vrabel were photographed enjoying each other’s company, leading many to think that the two were seeing each other despite being married to other people. The scandal also exposed the various conflicts of interest Russini and Vrabel had, given he was a team’s head coach and she a well-known sports journalist. Russini has since left The Athletic, while Vrabel is still with the Patriots.
