Deion Sanders and his family have, at times, been criticized for their lifestyle. This criticism also extends to the field, with Deion’s youngest son Shedeur Sanders drawing the attention of critics in his rookie season.
These criticisms were addressed by Deion, who said he is proud of what his kids have been doing and does not care what the critics say. He also touched on Shedeur’s record-breaking achievement. The Browns quarterback earned $17.7 million in group licensing income, breaking the previous record set by Tom Brady, according to Front Office Sports.
“All the scrutiny, the hate, & the drama that surrounds the Sanders family, we don’t care… I’m so proud of my kids… I just had a kid who made the most money in the history of the NFL in sales. That won’t even include jerseys. Y’all don’t know that. That was another deal,” Sanders said in a video posted by well off media on tuesday. (Timestamp 8:30)
According to FOS, Sanders potentially made more than $20 million in off-field earnings when individual endorsement deals are taken into account.
This shows the popularity and marketability of Shedeur, who is in the middle of a quarterback battle for the Cleveland Browns starting position.
Shedeur Sanders Earned More Money Off The Field Than Through His NFL Contract
Shedeur Sanders’ current four-year contract with the Cleveland Browns is worth $4.6 million, with a $447,380 signing bonus. This pales in comparison to his income from royalties and marketing. His largest payout reportedly surpassed his entire four-year contract at $9.2 million.
