Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s wife, Marissa, consoled fans after the 27-24 defeat against the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card game. Lawrence and his team gave up the lead in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter when Bills quarterback Josh Allen rushed for a one-yard touchdown.
The loss was devastating for fans and players alike as the Jaguars were expected to go deep this postseason. After the heartbreaking loss, Marissa took to Instagram and shared cherishing photos of herself and their newborn daughter, Shae, from the playoffs. She wrote a consoling message in the caption:
“Not how we wanted the season to end but I’m so incredibly proud of this team and of our guy! Trev I have watched you put countless hours into studying. I have watched you work so hard not just in season but off and seen the way you constantly want to be better and show up for this city and team. I couldn’t think of a better man for the job. I love you so much and I’m so proud of the man you are! Jacksonville we love you and it’s only the beginning!!! 💙✨”
Trevor Lawrence Takes Responsibility for Jaguars’ Loss Against Bills
Trevor Lawrence had a bad game, and for good measure, it played a hand in their loss. He completed 18 of 30 passes for 207 yards with three touchdowns against two interceptions. He also ran for 31 yards on six carries.
On the other hand, Bills quarterback Josh Allen played a flawless game, completing 28 of 35 passes for 273 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for two scores while registering 33 rushing yards on 11 carries.
In his postgame interview, Lawrence talked about his three costly turnovers saying “those add up and take points off the board.” He acknowledged he should have played better to give his teams the best shot to win.
Lawrence remains optimistic about the team’s future as he finds them equipped for a great season.
“There’s no guaranteed success, but I do feel like this is sustainable, the things that we’re doing,” Lawrence said. “I know offensively and defensively, just both sides of the ball had a hell of a year when it got down to the end, where we finished, and the growth that we had.”
It remains to be seen if Lawrence can once again make heads turn in 2026.
