Days After Absurd Travis Kelce Take, Ex NFL GM Advises Browns to Trade $160,000,000 Star

What does the future hold for Myles Garrett? Undoubtedly one of the best defensive players in the NFL, he seems to be trapped at Cleveland with a Browns team that’s in a perpetual rebuild process, and he’s getting on in years at 30 years old. The next move he makes will likely be his last chapter in the league.

Knowing that the window of getting the ever-elusive Super Bowl title will close sooner rather than later for him, in February, the star defensive end put in a transfer request with the Cleveland Browns. Where could he go has been one of the big questions of the offseason so far.

Mike Tannenbaum has an answer for the question: The Detroit Lions.

Speaking recently on ESPN, Tannenbaum proposed the following idea:

“The trade I said was. Why not trade him to Detroit for two ones (Meaning first round draft picks) and Jameson Williams? Like, who says no to that? Who says not to that?… If I’m Detroit, I feel like I’m one pass rusher away from meaningfully competing for the Super Bowl. I have great young offensive talent. I would hate to lose any of those guys, but I’m going to give up one of those guys and get the best pass rusher in the game and pair him with Aidan Hutchinson?… Go get another difference maker.”

Other commentators on the panel agreed with the idea in principle, seeing value in the deal for both teams, and the player included, but they did bring up the fact that Garrett might be too valuable for the Cleveland Browns to let him go under any circumstances.

Something else, they would have to pick part of Garrett’s massive $160 million contract if they want him.

This suggestion from Tannenbaum comes days after he proposed an absurd idea regarding Travis Kelce.

Mike Tannenbaum Earlier Hinted That Travis Kelce Has Nothing More To Offer To Kansas City

While his idea to trade Myles Garrett to the Lions this week was insightful, Tannenbaum had a more controversial idea last week. For him, the Kansas City Chiefs shouldn’t bring the star tight end on for the ride next year.

Speaking on “GetUp” on February 23, the former New York Jets general manager had the following to say about Kelce:

“I wouldn’t do it. And that’s when you’re in the front office and you’re a head coach, you have to make the honest and sober observation that you want to pay a player for what they are going to do, no what they’ve done. He is slowing down.”

This comes after months of rumors that Kelce is considering retiring from football to focus on his family life with popstar Taylor Swift.
