Jordyn Tyson’s first public NFL event will come as a scratch. While reports indicate the ASU star will appear at the event, he will not do any physical workouts or tests at the event. Tyson is working his way back from injury and appears to want to play it safe.
According to NFL draft analyst Dane Brugler, in a Monday report on X, Tyson is healing from an in-season hamstring injury.
“Sources: Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson won’t be doing any on-field workouts or testing at the NFL Combine,” he posted. “He continues to work his way back from his in-season hamstring injury.”
The hamstring injury is another footnote in a story of injury troubles for the receiver. Responding to the report, fantasy football analyst Dataroma braced for an injury-prone narrative to form while listing Tyson’s injury history.
“I feel like the Jordyn Tyson injury narrative is going to get out of control now, but looking at his college injuries: + 1 freak knee injury + One-time clavicle and hamstring issues,” Dataroma posted. “I’m no doctor, but to me that seems more like randomness rather than long term concern?”
According to a Jan. 4 report by Sports Illustrated, Tyson tore his ACL, MCL and PCL in 2022, which caused him to miss the 2023 season. A collarbone injury made him miss the College Football Playoff in 2024 and he suffered a hamstring injury in 2025 that he is still recovering from.
Jordyn Tyson’s Upside: Why Teams May Consider Tyson in 2026 NFL Draft
Jordyn Tyson comes with plenty of red flags, but there are some green ones as well. Tyson earned 21.4 yards per reception in 2022, a number that rivals the best of any receiver in this year’s draft class.
In his healthiest season in 2024, Tyson earned 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games of action. In 2025, he also earned eight touchdowns and 711 yards in nine games. Tyson has plenty of upside when healthy, but the question is whether he can stay on the field in a more brutal setting in the NFL.
If so, Tyson could be a perennial 1,000-yard receiver. If not, fans will be left wondering what could have been as they track the injury report.
