With the 2026 NFL Draft coming to a close last weekend in Pittsburgh, the franchises aren’t done rebuilding and strengthening their squads just as yet. With close to four months remaining for the 2026 NFL season to kickoff, franchises are already onto the next phase of bolstering their sides.
Free agents, while not talked about as much as the draft picks, have always been the driving force behind a team’s success.
This year too, teams will have their eyes on some top free agents, which will help them pluck holes and improve their overall squad balance. Let’s take a look at some of the remaining free agents and their potential landing spots for the 2026 NFL season.
Top 5 NFL Free Agents Remaining and Their Best Landing Spots
1. QB Aaron Rodgers (Pittsburgh Steelers)
Ever since suffering that 30-6 loss against the Texans last season in their wild card round fixture, much of the blame for the loss was attributed to their veteran QB Aaron Rodgers’ performance, essentially overshadowing his overall output for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 42-year-old put up some great numbers last season, throwing for 3,322 yards whilst also garnering 24 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. It won’t come as a surprise if the Pittsburgh-based franchise gets Rodgers and his goldmine of experience for one more season.
2. WR Stefon Diggs (Indianapolis Colts)
One of the biggest talking points ahead of the 2026 NFL season was the abrupt end to WR Stefon Diggs’s stint with the New England Patriots, as he was cut short of his contract just one season into his three-year deal with the Patriots.
While a lot of teams could potentially do well with the services of Diggs, the Colts are a perfect fit for him considering they need reinforcements in the WR position.
3. EDGE Joey Bosa (San Francisco 49’ers)
EDGE Joey Bosa emerges as another interesting option as far as the field of free agents is concerned. Having garnered a total of 17 solo tackles and 5 sacks during his time with the Bills last year, it won’t be long before he finds a new destination ahead of the new NFL season.
The San Francisco 49ers emerge as an interesting choice given they need depth in the EDGE department. Also, the idea of Joey potentially playing with his brother Nick on the same team could also help this deal actualizing.
4. WR Tyreek Hill (Kansas City Chiefs)
A lack of ample playing time with the Dolphins last season could be the reason why Hill finds himself in this free agent situation. Regardless, he still continues to be one of the top names in the pack.
Ever since letting go of Hill to the Dolphins back in 2022, the WR position is something that the Kansas City Chiefs would like to bolster, so a potential reunion could very well be on the cards.
5. OT Taylor Decker (Chicago Bears)
One of the Detroit Lions’ biggest mainstays in the last decade is now out on the free agent market, something a lot of teams could do well with given his experience and consistency in the league.
With a plethora of chatter around Decker joining the Bears anytime soon, NFL analysts too think that Ben Johnson’s side could be a great fit for the former first-round pick and pro bowl tackle.
