It’s been a week since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married at Madison Square Garden in NYC. The June 3 wedding was attended by some of the biggest celebrities from the world of music, film, and sports, including New England Patriots legend Tom Brady.
Brady wasn’t the only former Patriot who was at MSG to celebrate Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s big night. His former teammate and three-time Super Bowl champion, Julian Edelman, was in attendance as well.
Edelman recently made an appearance on Yahoo Sports Daily, and like every other guest, he was also asked to spill details about the “wedding of the millennium.” The 40-year-old refused to reveal the details for a peculiar reason.
“There was a wedding, and it was awesome, that’s where I’ll keep it,” Edelman said. “I don’t have a high enough pay grade to go into details. I don’t know the details of what we can and can’t say.”
Despite the reluctance to share details, Edelman said that he wishes nothing but the best for the superstar couple and is excited for them to have kids together.
“It was an unbelievable love story, I’ll leave it at that,” he said. “[I] can’t wait to watch those people reproduce humans and make insane people for this society, in a great way.”
Edelman attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding with former teammate Rob Gronkowski and his girlfriend, Camille Kostek. He shared a picture of the trio on Instagram with a sweet caption for the newlywed.
“One hell of a (love) story. Congrats to Taylor and Travis 🍾 Unbelievable day celebrating two incredible people,” he wrote.
While most celebrities made headlines for attending the wedding, some did the same by declining the invite.
Charles Barkley “Politely Declined” Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding Invitation
There’s a Philadelphia connection between Charles Barkley and the Kelce family. Sir Charles spent the first eight years of his Hall of Fame NBA career playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, and Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason, represented the Eagles his entire NFL career.
Over the years, they have become friends and have appeared on each other’s podcasts. So, it wasn’t surprising that Chuck received an invite for the high-profile wedding. However, he decided not to be in attendance and detailed his reason during a conversation with “Unfiltered with Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo” on Philadelphia’s 97.5 The Fanatic.
“I did get an invite, and I politely declined,” Barkley said. “I love Travis and Jason, and I have only met Taylor once. … But I said that is just too much. I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up. But I appreciate the invitation; it was pretty special.”
In Chuck’s defense, he has been open about not wanting to attend weddings or funerals. He probably spent the weekend with his grandkids.
