Michael Rubin is known for hosting the biggest celebrity gatherings, but even the Fanatics CEO isn’t comparing his annual White Party to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.
Rubin, whose net worth is estimated at $9.6 billion according to Forbes, addressed the comparisons after reports suggested that he had shifted the date of his Hamptons White Party to avoid clashing with Swift and Kelce’s wedding celebrations at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Rubin made it clear that the speculation was off the mark. He explained that the party’s scheduling had nothing to do with the celebrity wedding.
“Mr. Ruben, so we covered your white party in the Hamptons. We know that you were at the wedding, we’re assuming. Which one was better?” – the interviewer asked him.
“I wasn’t at the wedding, white party. I did not get an invite…great guy, great couple, so happy for them,” he said.
When asked about the comparisons between the two events, Rubin laughed it off and said he couldn’t compare them because he “wasn’t invited” to Swift and Kelce’s wedding. Rather than expressing disappointment, he also said that he was happy for the newlyweds and wished them well.
Earlier reports had suggested that Rubin moved the White Party from its traditional July 3 or July 4 slot to July 1 to avoid conflicting with the wedding. However, TMZ later confirmed that invitations were already out before Swift and Kelce’s wedding rumors surfaced.
And since Fanatics maintains a business relationship with the UFC, the scheduling was changed because of that event rather than Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding.
Rubin’s White Party featured A-list guests that included Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Mike Tyson, Jake and Logan Paul, Alex Rodriguez and several other celebrities.
Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Proposal Story
On the July 8 episode of the podcast Travis Kelce shared when he proposed to his beloved Taylor.
During the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, he reflected on his proposal and confirmed a long-standing fan theory about when it happened.
“Starting it with Taylor, pretty epic,” Kelce said while looking back at Swift’s first appearance on the podcast. “During that recording, the entire time I’m planning, like, ‘I’m gonna ask this woman to marry me after this.'”
Kelce added that the episode would always hold a special place in his heart because it marked the beginning of the proposal that eventually led to their wedding.
His comments appeared to confirm what many Swift fans had speculated for months, that the proposal took place shortly after Swift finished recording her first appearance on New Heights.
The revelation won fans’ heart, with many gushing over the sweet gesture made by Travis.
