Shilo Sanders has found himself in some hot water after making a comment in support of his brother Shedeur Sanders.
The Cleveland Browns’ QB1 spot has been long debated and will continue to do so as the season begins, but perhaps its most controversial take came on Instagram by none other than the brother of someone closely involved in the race.
Because Shilo Sanders took to Instagram to support his brother, but is now being criticized for the way he went about it, telling reporter Mary Kay Cabot to “go make a sandwich” after she suggested that Deshaun Watson was the best fit for the Browns at the quarterback spot, basically relegating Shedeur Sanders to second place at the best.
The comment drew a litany of reactions from fans, with many treating it as a harmless jab at Cabot, but Emmanuel Acho was not one of those individuals.
On his show, Acho addressed the comment, and termed it “misogynistic”, telling Shilo to tread carefully and not make things worse.
“Shilo [Sanders] gotta tread carefully, because telling Mary Kay Cabot to ‘make a sandwich’ was out of bounds,” he said, amid a slew of other directives to Shilo after the controversial comment.
Shedeur Still has Time to Prove Himself
Regardless of the current situation, Shedeur Sanders can still make himself QB1, with head coach Todd Monken seeming to suggest that all possibilities were open at the quarterback spot and nothing set in stone.
A strong preseason will help Shedeur prepare for the challenges that come ahead in a long but hopefully rewarding campaign for the Browns.
