After getting fired from the New York Giants, Brian Daboll is still hunting for a new job, and it might not necessarily be as a head coach this time. NFL insider Adam Schefter is reporting that the former Giants head coach is “expected to interview for the Eagles offensive coordinator job.” This comes after he has was interviewed for the job as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.
However, not many were happy with this decision. While Daboll has been good at developing quarterbacks and might greatly improve the Eagles’ offense, not everyone is convinced that the former Giants coach would be a good fit for Philly. Fans on X poured their reactions.
“Saquon Barkley’s worst nightmare,” claimed one fan.
“dabboll really out here chasing the next big gig huh,” replied another.
“Anyone who has coached the giants in the last decade should be black listed from the NFL and made to coach junior high.” said another person.
“Eagles could do worse. He not only knows the Eagles personnel but they play the Giants twice and he knows their weaknesses. Heck, is also familiar with the rest of the Eagles division.” one person noted.
“All these coaches are just getting recycled. Where is the new blood, new ideas, new energy, new culture? The only coach recycle hire that is exciting would-be McDaniels as the Lions new OC. With all those weapons, 12 dome games. The two games between the Lions v Bears would be fire. Lions hoping McDaniels can blast the ghost of Ben out of town for good.” asked one fan.
“The Eagles are going to get Ozempic Daboll lmao.” joked one X user.
LA Chargers Also Showing Interest In Brian Daboll
It is not just the Titans and the Eagles that are trying to get Brian Daboll, but also several other teams, with most of them wanting him to be their next offensive coordinator and not the head coach. As OC, Daboll would have a hand in developing quarterbacks, as he did with Jaxson Dart at New York. One of the teams interested is the LA Chargers.
The reason why they reportedly want Daboll is that he could help develop Justin Herbert, who has been on a slump as of late. Reports indicate that they want his QB development skills to help Herbert improve after the team’s first-round elimination.
