Hoofnagle has worked in marketing and account management, including roles within healthcare technology, allowing her the flexibility to continue her career while supporting Darnold across different teams and cities.
Darnold proposed to Hoofnagle in July 2025, marking a major milestone in their relationship after several years together. Since then, she has frequently been seen supporting him from the stands and at team-related events.

In July 2025, Hoofnagle posted several pictures on Instagram in a joint post with Darnold. The pictures were from the time the quarterback proposed to her. Hoofnagle captioned the post, “YES.”
Darnold proposed at Dana Point in California, surrounded by flowers. The couple also took pictures near the beach while they embraced one of the biggest moments of their lives.
Sam Darnold’s 28th Birthday
Darnold turned 28 in June last year. Hoofnagle marked the occasion with a photo dump on Instagram featuring pictures of the quarterback in different settings and a sweet message in the caption.
“Amidst the chaos of our everyday lives, every day spent with you is filled with an abundance of peace, laughter, presence, joy, and love. Here’s to another trip around the sun sharing good meals, good music, and good company. Happy 28th birthday to my better half, I love you more,” she wrote.
2021 Masters
Darnold and Hoofnagle went to the 2021 Masters, dressed for the moment. “traded in the khakis and name tag for a cool new hat and a Crows Nest,” she captioned the post.
NFL Honors
Darnold and Hoofnagle attended the 2025 NFL Honors event together. She posted a picture from their time on the red carpet of the event and also celebrated Darnold’s seven years in the league.
“such a fun night to close out your 7th year in the league! I’m proud of you for all that you’ve accomplished, but I’m prouder of the person that you are and continue to be. thanks for letting me be a part of your journey, Sam. standing by your side is a blessing that I’ll never take for granted. 2024 Halloween
Halloween becomes a big deal every year in the NFL world. All the couples try to come up with the best outfit ideas to stand out at every party they’re slated to attend. In 2024, Darnold and Hoofnagle came up with something special.
They recreated Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s all-denim outfit from the 2001 American Music Awards. Hoofnagle posted several pictures of their outfits, and they were pretty close to what inspired them to go with that look.
