Saints Draft Picks 2026: 3 Rookies Who Could Make a Stronger Impact This Season

After finishing the 2025 NFL season with an overall record of 6-11 and a fourth-spot finish amongst all the NFC South teams, it’s fair to say that the New Orleans Saints needed a major overhaul heading into the 2026 NFL draft.

During the 3-day draft proceedings last weekend in Pittsburgh, the Saints were one of the busiest franchises throughout the course of the seven rounds, picking a total of eight players as they look to bolster their squad come next season.

While the New Orleans-based franchise would like to put their 2025 season in the backseat, here are three rookies that could forge a massive impact and help the Saints achieve new heights in the 2026 NFL season.

Top 3 Rookies Who Could Make a Strong Impact For The Saints This Season

    1. WR Jordyn Tyson

One of the biggest areas of concern for the Saints heading into the draft earlier this month was the wide receiver spot, and they have acknowledged the same by picking Arizona State’s star Jordyn Tyson in the very first round and the eighth overall pick.

Over the span of his three-year college football career, he has garnered a total of 2,282 yards while also scoring 22 touchdowns and 158 receptions. Having initially made his name in the CFB circuit playing for the Colorado Buffaloes before eventually moving to the Sun Devils, there are no clouds surrounding his talent.

However, given his frequent run-in with injuries, the Saints will have to ensure he remains fit for the entirety of the season in order for him to have a massive impact on the field.

    2. DT Christen Miller

The Saints showed enormous faith in DT Christen Miller when they picked him up in the second round itself as the 42nd overall pick.

Standing at 6’3″ and 304 pounds, Miller’s consistent performances throughout his time with the Georgia Bulldogs over the last three years make him one of the most sought-after rookies for the Saints, with the franchise definitely hoping for him to replicate his past numbers at the NFL level.

With enough game time, it won’t come as a surprise if Miller emerges as the key missing defensive piece that New Orleans missed all season last year.

    3. TE Oscar Delp

Another one of Georgia’s biggest mainstays is now a part of the New Orleans Saints. The Saints’ round 3 pick and the 73rd overall pick in the form of TE Oscar Delp could most definitely help the side add a new dimension in their offense.

However, given the Saints have the services of Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant in the TE position and rank higher than the rookie TE recruit as far as their depth chart is concerned, it will be interesting to see if Delp gets enough game time come next season.

Regardless, Oscar Delp’s ceiling on the field knows no bounds, and he could very well have an enormous impact for the New Orleans-based franchise whenever he gets called upon.
