Former Green Bay Packers QB and NFL Hall of Famer Brett Favre has decided to boycott the Super Bowl Halftime performance featuring Grammy-winning pop star Bad Bunny.
Favre, who won Super Bowl XXXI with the Packers back in 1997, on his X account wrote how he plans on skipping the NFL halftime show featuring Bunny, as he is apparently unfamiliar with his music. Instead, he intends to watch Turning Point USA’s all-American halftime show featuring the likes of Lee Brice and Kid Rock, amongst other performers.
This has also prompted a lot of fans on X to call out Favre on his decision to boycott the halftime show.
“I guess that’s why he should watch it to know if Bad Bunny’s music is something he would like! Totally would be better than just dismissing it!”, stated a fan.
“He’s going to be to high to watch the unseasoned Super Bowl halftime show“, said a fan.
“Ewww imagine not trying to learn or listen to something new or different to what you use to. So sad. That quality is such an ugly side of a bunch of Americans”, remarked a fan.
“For crying out loud! I absolutely detest Beyoncé’s music, I didn’t boycott the game or the halftime show. I didn’t complain, I just listened to some music I didn’t particularly like between 2 halves of football”, commented a fan.
“I wonder if he will watch it while sitting on a sofa he bought with the Medicaid dollars that were supposed to help poor people in Mississippi”, stated another fan.
“We haven’t gave a f*ck Brett Favre thinks in 2 decades”, commented another fan.
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show is one of the most talked-about things at present, with a lot of patriotic undertones laced into this sporting spectacle.
With the Trump administration’s constant effort to deport immigrants with the help of agencies like ICE, the selection of a Hispanic performer to headline the halftime show has ruffled the feathers of a certain section of the demographic.
Donald Trump Confirms He Will Skip Super Bowl LX in California
During an interview with the New York Post, US President Donald Trump officially announced his plans not to attend Super Bowl LX in California.
While explaining his reason for skipping the bowl, Trump highlighted travelling and logistics as the primary reasons behind his absence, calling Santa Clara “just too far away.”
While the official reason seems to just be logistics, a report from Trump’s aides suggests that the camp is afraid of the president being booed by the crowd, as occurred during the US Open and the FIFA Club World Cup final.
