As speculation continues to swirl around Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s rumored July 3 wedding, the New York Police Department has reportedly been warned about a potential crowding of “Swifties” near Madison Square Garden (the rumored venue for the ceremony).
According to Variety, two NYPD officers patrolling the area around Madison Square Garden said they had been warned about the possibility of large crowds gathering if Swift and Kelce decide to get married at MSG.
As per Variety, the two NYPD officers agreed to speak if they could remain anonymous to avoid any repercussions at work. Both cops said that they have been briefed about a potential influx of Taylor Swift fans, paparazzi and onlookers on the day, and that it’s been a topic of discussion and amusement when chatting with their friends on the force.
Madison Square Garden is next to Penn Station, which is already one of New York City’s busiest transportation hubs, so managing the extra crowd during the event is going to be a challenge.
Who Will Be Attending Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift’s Wedding
Although neither Swift nor Kelce has confirmed when or where they will marry, several reports have suggested that it will take place over the Fourth of July weekend.
The guest list is expected to feature several celebrities as well as NFL players.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said he received an invitation during an interview on “The Drive.”
“Well, I probably have. You know, I probably have. And if I don’t outgrow my tuxedo before then, I’m going,” Reid said.
Jason Kelce also confirmed he is looking forward to the wedding.
“Obviously very excited, very excited for my brother, obviously a big moment for him,” Jason told reporters. “I’m very happy for both of them and looking forward to celebrating with them.”
“They said absolutely no gifts. But I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, really likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin,” – George Kittle said to Extra TV.
Despite all the growing excitement, there has been no official confirmation from either Swift or Kelce regarding the wedding ceremony. So until the couple speaks out publicly, the actual date, venue, and guest list making the rounds on social media are just speculation.
For now, however, it appears that New York authorities are preparing for the possibility that thousands of Swift fans could descend on one of the city’s busiest landmarks, should the wedding rumors prove true.
