LOOK: Puka Nacua Spotted With Rookie Teammate During USA Vs. Turkey FIFA World Cup Battle

The FIFA World Cup continues as the group stage enters its last few games, and it is drawing in stars from other sports, including the Los Angeles Rams’ Puka Nacua.

He was spotted alongside movie star Ashton Kutcher and his newest teammate, incoming rookie Ty Simpson, as they watched the USA vs. Turkey match at the Los Angeles Stadium.

The trio was seen hanging out together in a suite at the stadium in Inglewood, cheering for Team USA. Turkey would pull off a surprise 3-2 win, but would be eliminated with the Americans moving on to the knockout stage, topping their group.

It was a star-studded affair at the USA vs. Turkey game, as other celebrities and athletes were also spotted, including Jessica Alba, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell, Sacramento Kings guard Zach Levine, and NBA legend Scottie Pippen.

The Rams drafted Ty Simpson, but not just as a backup for their superstar QB. Despite being named the MVP last season, Matthew Stafford is aging, so Simpson could have been brought in to develop him as a replacement, in case Stafford retires or leaves.

Simpson has since shown that he has integrated well with his new teammates, as his appearance at the match alongside Puka Nacua indicates.

Insider Believes Ty Simpson Would Not Be the Rams’ QB2

However, despite being taken in the first round by the Rams, Ty Simpson is facing an uphill battle to be named the primary backup for Matthew Stafford. The team is aiming for the Super Bowl, and having a good backup QB in case Matthew Stafford gets injured is critical.

NFL analyst Jason La Canfora believes it will not be the rookie, Ty Simpson, but veteran backup Stetson Bennett, who is more than familiar with head coach Sean McVay’s offense.

“This team is in Super-Bowl-or-bust mode more than perhaps any other in the league. Which means that veteran backup Stetson Bennett, with years of experience in Sean McVay’s offense and who saw lots of reps in the past offseason when league MVP Matthew Stafford was battling injuries, could still emerge as their No. 2 quarterback this season. In fact, it would actually surprise us if McVay didn’t go into the season with his quarterback room arranged in that fashion,” he said.

He added that sources have told him that the Rams could still win games with Bennett and that the team does not believe Simpson is ready yet.
