With close to three months left for the start of yet another NFL season, franchises have been super proactive in assembling their rosters as they vie for the elusive Super Bowl title. Despite concluding an eventful draft week earlier this April, teams are now eyeing free agents as they continue to plug holes in their injury-ridden squads.
The 2025 NFL campaign saw a lot of high-profile players sustain season-ending injuries, some of which are yet to be resolved ahead of the new season. This includes players like QB Patrick Mahomes and WR Tyreek Hill, who, according to reports, will now need monitoring heading into 2026.
Dr. Jesse Morse of TheInjuryExpertz, in a recent post on X, released a list of all the NFL players who will be closely looked at ahead of the league’s resumption later this September.
While Dr. Morse did not go in-depth with the severity of some of these injured players, he did mention how there have been bad updates on players like Malik Nabers, Tyreek Hill, and Rashee Rice.
While the general sentiment surrounding Chiefs’ star Patrick Mahomes’ return timeline from his ACL and LCL tear from last season is projected to be at week 1 of the 2026 campaign, Dr. Morse revealed how a summary and the injury status of all the injured players will be available by mid-July.
Bringing injury concerns, WR Tyreek Hill’s participation in the league is still in question as he continues to remain without a team after the Dolphins released him in 2025.
