The NFL coaching carousel continues to turn after 10 head coaches have been fired throughout the 2025 season, including a few of the more surprising ones. Coaches from underperforming teams such as the Las Vegas Raiders, the Tennessee Titans and the Cleveland Browns have expectedly been fired, but a few teams that made the playoffs and a few long-tenured coaches who have led their teams to Super Bowl glory were also let go.
Six of these 10 teams that have fired their coaches are still looking for a new one, which means just four teams have found replacements, with some of the bigger names being snatched up shortly after they got fired.
4 Newly Hired Head Coaches And Where They Landed
John Harbaugh: New York Giants
John Harbaugh is a legendary coach that guided the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl title. However, his failure to deliver in the Lamar Jackson era and missing the playoffs for the first time sealed his fate. Still, he has already proven himself and with his experience, he could guide Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants to bounce back from this year’s disastrous season.
Robert Saleh: Tennessee Titans
While he was a head coach for the New York Jets before, he served as the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers this year. It did not take long for the Titans to come knocking, and this defensive mastermind has found himself a new job with Tennessee, which was arguably one of the worst teams this season.
Kevin Stefanski: Atlanta Falcons
A former two-time Coach of the Year winner, Kevin Stefanski did not do too well as a head coach of the Cleveland Browns and was even widely hated by the fanbase due to his alleged sabotaging of QB Shedeur Sanders, as well as drawing up some bad plays that may have led to the team losing. Still, Stefanski does have a reputation as a very good quarterback coach, and the Falcons may be getting an improved offense with him.
Jeff Hafley: Miami Dolphins
While he is not a household name yet, he used to serve as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. This would be his first time as an NFL head coach but he already has plenty of coaching experience ahead of this new job.
