NFC Playoff Picture: Who Do Rams Play Next Week After Carolina Win?

The Los Angeles Rams will continue their 2025-26 playoff journey after the Wild Card Round win against the Carolina Panthers. The Rams were the heavy favorites going into the game, and despite some momentary lapses, they pulled off a win.

Panthers, on the other hand, conclude their season with this loss. To their credit, they fought back and challenged the Rams better than what most people expected from them, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a 31-34 loss.

The Rams, being the first team to play and win a Wild Card Round game, will have to wait to find out who their opponent will be in the divisional round. It would be one of these four teams: the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chicago Bears, the Seattle Seahawks, or the San Francisco 49ers.

Now, what are the possible scenarios for the Rams to play any of the four teams? The Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers are battling out in the Wild Card Round for their divisional round spot today.

If the Bears win today and Philadelphia defeats San Francisco tomorrow, the Rams will play the Seattle Seahawks at home. In case the 49ers win against the Eagles, the Rams will go against Chicago in their divisional round matchup.

On the flip side, if the Green Bay Packers manage to defeat the Chicago Bears today and the Eagles win their matchup against the 49ers, then the Rams will play the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round.

In case the 49ers win over the Eagles tomorrow, the Rams will host the San Francisco franchise at home. In less than 24 hours, the Rams will be made aware of their next opponent. While none of the opponents can be called easy targets, the Seattle Seahawks would be the toughest to beat.

With a 14-3 record and a seven-game winning streak, the Seahawks have shown that they are one of the most dangerous teams in the league this year.

Matthew Stafford Won the Game for the Rams

The Rams started the game with a seven-point lead in the first quarter. By halftime, the Panthers managed to cut down the lead, but the Rams still had a three-point advantage over the home team.

The second half was a neck-to-neck competition between two teams fighting for a spot in the divisional round. At one point, it seemed like the Panthers might cause an upset and eliminate the Rams.

However, when Matthew Stafford found Colby Parkinson for a game-winning drive, it all came crashing down for the Panthers. Stafford went 24 of 42 for 304 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in his game-winning performance.
