In December 2025, Stefon Diggs was hit with a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of assault after an incident involving his private chef.
Mila Adams, the chef, alleged that the dispute was over the money that Diggs owed her, and things escalated, leading to the receiver entering her unlocked room and allegedly smacking her across the face.
As per the police report, Diggs tried to choke her with his elbow around her neck. Adams tried to push him away during this altercation. The Patriots star also told her she was lying when she brought up not being paid.
“Stefon Diggs categorically denies these allegations. They are unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated — because they did not occur,” Diggs’ attorney said in a statement.
The attorney said these were false allegations. He stated that Adams might not have been satisfied with the resolution of the financial dispute, which was her motivation for making these allegations.
Diggs’ attorney stated that the Patriots star would look forward to “establishing the truth in a court of law.” The initial arraignment in this matter was scheduled for January 23rd, but it was later rescheduled.
Diggs and the New England Patriots were on their Super Bowl run, and a request to reschedule the arraignment was made on that basis. The request was accepted, and the arraignment was rescheduled for February 13.
Stefon Diggs Entered a Not-Guilty Plea
Diggs made his first court appearance in this matter today. The New England Patriots wide receiver entered a not-guilty plea. He stated that he’d “never make false claims for personal gain or to damage someone’s reputation.”
As per TMZ, shortly after Diggs’ plea, Adams released a statement.
“I did not seek public attention and reported this matter through the proper legal channels. This is an active criminal matter, and I will continue to respect the legal process. I will not engage in rumors, personal attacks, or respond to misinformation on social media, and I will ask others to refrain from spreading false narratives.”
She stated that she will continue to focus on “healing, my work, and moving forward with integrity.” She stated that she has faith in the legal process and believes the facts of the case will be addressed by everyone involved.
