What the NCAA Decision Means for Trinidad Chambliss’ Draft Stock: Projections for the Ole Miss Star After Eligibility Denial

    Trinidad Chambliss is NFL bound.

After playing a fifth college football season this past year, Chambliss was denied by the NCAA another season of eligibility this upcoming fall.

Chambliss sent the NCAA an appeal for a waiver to allow him to pay another season. After it was denied, Ole Miss requested the NCAA reconsider giving Chambliss another season, which was denied on Thursday.

Chambliss’ reps have argued that the 2022 season shouldn’t count towards his eligibility since he was medically unable to play.

    Trinidad Chambliss Draft Projection

With Trinidad Chambliss being denied a sixth collegiate football season, it sounds like he will be entering the 2026 NFL Draft.

Chambliss, spent the 2026-2027 season with the Ole Miss Rebels and had an unexpected breakout season.

So what is Chambliss’ draft projection? He’s currently ranked third on Mel Kiper’s QB rankings for the 2026 NFL Daft.

Prior to the combine and pro days, it’s anybody’s guess as to where Chambliss will be drafted. The consensus seems to be that he will be a second or third round pick. It’s a weaker QB class, Dante Moore announced his decision to return to Oregon, and there’s many teams that need a new franchise quarterback.

Chambliss is a smaller quarterback, standing at 6 foot tall and weighing just 200 pounds. Not the most ideal size for an NFL quarterback.

Chambliss starred at Division II Ferris State from 2021-2024 and won two national championships with them. He transferred to Ole Miss this past season and brought them to the semifinal round of the college playoffs, where the Rebels loss to Miami.

In his collegiate career, Chambliss has a record of 25-4, and has thrown for over 7,000 yards and 53 touchdowns.
