Many NBA fans in the Bay Area, including Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons, were hoping for LeBron James to sign with the Golden State Warriors and play alongside Stephen Curry. However, instead of chasing a fifth ring with Curry, James has decided to sign a two-year, $8 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers to play alongside Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown.
The deal has surprised many, who hoped James and Curry would reunite in the NBA for the first time and deliver a championship, just like they have previously with Team USA in the Olympics.
As soon as James’ deal with the 76ers became official, Parsons showed his disappointment while showing massive respect for Curry.
“Nobody wants to play with my man Curry, man I don’t get it!! All he do is win!! What is going on in the bay!!???” Parsons wrote on X.
Interestingly, Curry’s Warriors were among the interested parties to sign LeBron James, who is not playing for a hefty sum. However, it appears James is reserving his final best for the 76ers, who are longing for a championship.
Micah Parsons Once Fired Back at LeBron James’ Social Media Comparison
In November 2024, Micah Parsons, who was playing for the Dallas Cowboys at the time, rejected the idea of following LeBron James’ lead and taking a break from social media.
During training camp, Parsons was not happy about doing the same as James and noted a big career difference between the two.
“LeBron was on social media for 20 years,” Parsons told reporters. “So what are you saying? I’ve been in the league for four years. Now I need to get off social media? Four championships later. LeBron was on social media when he won an NBA title. What are we saying here?”
At the time, the All-Pro edge rusher was facing criticism for running his “The Edge” podcast in parallel with his NFL career, with many believing it could distract him in the long run. The edge rusher continued by pointing to Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who also hosts a popular podcast during the NFL season.
“Amon-Ra St. Brown has his podcast. Why doesn’t anybody talk about his podcast? There’s a bunch of people doing podcasts. Don’t bring that up about Micah Parsons’ podcast,” Parsons added.
Parsons was traded to the Packers in August 2025 by the Cowboys. His first season went really well, and he would like to fuel Green Bay’s Super Bowl hopes in the upcoming season.
